As part of our ongoing commitment to philanthropy and helping others, PLK Communities is a top level sponsor for this year’s Greater Cincinnati Northern Kentucky Apartment Association Night Out for Outreach being held on October 5, 2019. This special event is an integral part of the fundraising efforts for this very worthwhile organization.
Apartment Association Outreach was founded in 1991 by the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky Apartment Association (GCNKAA). The group was driven by a desire to make a difference in their community while elevating the apartment industry. Throughout the next decade, the Outreach evolved into a strong organization that answered the needs of individuals in times of crisis, served the poor and elderly, and helped to provide basic needs for area residents.
Each day families and individuals are in need of housing, food, school supplies, continuing education and a helping hand. The Outreach organization steps in helps whenever possible. Throughout the years The Apartment Association Outreach has helped thousands of people. The numbers this year alone are astounding but are still a drop in the bucket when measured against the tremendous amount of need. Year to date they’ve managed to provide:
More than $57,000 in Rent Assistance through 5 Social Service Partners
$44,998 of canned food and personal care items to 20 Pantry Partners
68,000 school supplies to 1500+ children in the Back to School “Pack the Backpack” Drive
Meals and entertainment to Senior Citizens in Affordable Housing communities
More than $8,000 in Post-secondary scholarships
