PLK Communities is proud to share that Chief Operating Officer, Megan Lawhon, has been selected as a 2025 Women Who Mean Business honoree by the Cincinnati Business Courier. Launched in 2016, the program recognizes Greater Cincinnati leaders whose impact is transforming their organizations—and the region they serve.
Megan joined PLK in 2016 and stepped into the COO role in 2018. She leads PLK’s day-to-day operations as the portfolio grows to nearly 9,000 homes, pairing disciplined execution with a people-first approach. Her leadership emphasizes team development, service excellence for residents, and the operational rigor that sustains growth across communities and markets.
Megan’s commitment to the multifamily field extends beyond our walls. She invests time and energy into training, connection, and service across the industry, currently serving as 2025 president-elect of the Ohio Apartment Association, secretary of the Greater Cincinnati Northern Kentucky Apartment Association (GCNKAA), and a board member of Apartment Association Outreach. Through these roles, she mentors talent, strengthens professional networks, and helps elevate standards across Ohio and Greater Cincinnati.
Recognition programs like Women Who Mean Business shine a light on leaders whose work drives measurable results and meaningful community impact. Megan’s example—elevating teams, investing in people, and delivering consistent operational excellence—embodies the kind of leadership that moves both organizations and regions forward. At PLK, her influence shows up in everyday decisions that improve the resident experience and create opportunities for associates to grow their careers.
Megan will be recognized at the Women Who Mean Business awards ceremony on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Cincinnati Music Hall (3:30–6:00 PM).
Please join the entire PLK Communities team in congratulating Megan on this well-earned honor.
